Kick off the school year by learning about the multitude of activities, sports and clubs that your students can join. Several community businesses and organizations will be on-site to answer questions. Enjoy complimentary Kona Ice too!

The Fall Social is a fun, relaxed way for parents to catch up after a busy summer, become better acquainted, and get the new school year off to a great start! Enjoy adult beverages and light appetizers.  Casual attire.  Don’t miss out on all the fun!

TRIVIA NIGHT

Trivia Night LogoJoin us for a fun Battle of the Brains!

 

- Saturday, September 30

 

- Doors open at 5:45. Trivia is 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

 

- City of Falls Church Community Center

 

- Teams will be allowed to bring snacks and adult beverages!

 

- Create a team of a trivia buffs together to see if you can best the 2x defending champs, "Thank A Teacher"

 

- Prizes for the top teams!

 

 

 

 


BOOK FAIR

- Oak Street Elementary Media Center

 

- October 16-20 

 

- Shopping can be done in-person and online

 

- Profits from the book fair will be used to benefit all three Falls Church City Elementary School libraries. 

 

- In addition to books, you can also purchase spirit gear!

 

 

 

 


GIVE Day

GIVE Day has become an FCCPS wide day of giving. The elementary schools are led by 5th graders who choose the causes they want to support this year.

 

- GIVE Day will take place on MLK Day - January 15, 2024.

 

- Ambassador applications will be due in November.

- education via country tables

- entertainment by a fashion show, song and dance performances

- culture and cuisine from a buffet line of foods generously donated by local restaurants

The Hippo Tiger Giraffe (HTG) Games is a community building event where the staff and teachers from Oak Street compete against the staff and teachers from Mt. Daniel and Jesse Thackrey in wacky field day type games. (Rain or shine!)
