Recent Accomplishments

What does the PTA do? Well, in the 2025-2026 school year with your help, we:

Provided over $13,000 in teacher grants to 15 teachers
Sponsored a visit with the original author of Pete the Cat at Mount Daniel and JTP, and provided all students with an autographed book.
Held the annual Information Fair with over 25 local organizations participating and supplying Kona Ice for all attendees.
Worked with Central Office to provide school supplies for each and every student in the elementary system.
Welcomed 55 parents to our annual Fall Social hosted at Audacious Aleworks.
Staffed the annual Book Fair at Oak Street, providing our elementary schools with over $6000 in funds and 100 donated books to families in need.
Coordinated the biggest Trivia Night to date with the MEH PTA with 26 teams vying for the coveted Golden Cup (Congrats again to "Thank a Teacher!").
Provided a welcome back breakfast for teachers and staff at each school.
Stocked the staff bathrooms at each school with toiletries and new furniture.
Purchased a new Virginia state flag for Oak Street Elementary school.
Worked with local businesses to host semi-monthly dine out nights in The Little City and beyond, bringing in over $1000 to support our organization.
Stocked the lounges with treats on Teacher Workdays and provided Cocoa & Cookies before winter break.
Sold hundreds of Spirit Gear items, including our newest T-shirt design by Ms. Fiddy, cozy pajama pants and hoodies, and the very popular stuffies.
Collaborated with over 190 budding Picassos to create lasting masterpieces through the Original Works fundraiser.
Facilitated the rebranding of the Principal Coffees to School Spotlights, hosting monthly virtual programming to explore our schools more deeply.
Funded the painting of the Bike Garden at Mount Daniel, executed spectacularly by Meridian students.
Hosted a Room Parent Orientation with representatives from almost every class in attendance, collaborating to best support our classrooms.
Supported after school programs at Oak Street in partnership with Baroody Camps.
